In 1841 Luigi Costamagna was granted the
right to sell wines for retail consumption by the Royal Military
Command of Alba. Today Alessandro Locatelli continues the family
tradition in the historic commune of La Morra where their vineyards
in the "Rocche dell' Annunziata" zone are renowned for producing
the excellent and very elegant Barolo and Barbera for which La
Morra is famed for.
Alessandro is a modern, dynamic and
progressive wine-maker who is constantly exploring ways to improve
his wines whilst always remembering the lessons learnt by his
forebears. The cantina in La Morra where the wines are made dates
back to the 17th century.
