Mauro Molino's winery sits only 100 meters
or so from the noble Conca vineyard of the Annunziata in the Barolo
commune of La Morra.
Mauro is the first generation of his
family to make wine, bottling his first vintage in 1985 and now
assisted by his son Matteo and daughter Martina, who work with him
to run the vineyard and cantina. He has just 10 hectares of
vineyards in La Morra and Monforte d'Alba, making just a few
hundred cases a year of stunning cru Barolo. His beautifully
structured, aromatic Barolo Gancia is from the limestone-rich soils
right next to the Bricco Luciani.
